Why should I book an appointment?

Consultation Appointments are scheduled meeting times with a librarian or specialist and are available for current students, faculty, and staff of Texas State University. An appointment with our library staff can help you work smarter, not harder, and meet your research goals! One-on-one research assistance is available in person or online.

How do appointments work?

Peer Research Coaches

  • Who they are: highly trained student research coaches
  • Area of expertise: research projects for most undergraduate courses.
  • Where to meet them: research coaches will be available for drop-in consultations before the end of Spring! Please check back for more information.

What the research coach does:

  • The coach is here to show you how to find materials for your project - not to do the work for you.
  • If they find materials to help your research, you can ask them to share that information via email.

What you do:

  • Bring your assignment prompt.
  • Bring any materials or resources you've already found (these can be links!).
  • Be prepared to take notes as the coach shows you amazing tricks and tips for doing excellent library research!
